American Folk Festival
on the Bangor Waterfront

August 22 - 24, 2008

Building upon the success of the National Folk Festival’s three-year tenure from 2002 to 2004, the city of Bangor, Maine launched the American Folk Festival in 2005. The NCTA is proud to be partnering with Bangor in producing this festival, which continues as a large, free celebration of traditional music, dance and crafts on the “National” model.  Bangor is a wonderful small city with big ideas, where community spirit and a “can do” attitude are creating a tradition of exciting festivals that draw large, enthusiastic audiences.  The 2007 festival set a record for attendence with crowds of over 168,000.  Go Bangor!
