The Lowell Folk Festival
July 25-27, 2008
The Lowell Folk Festival, a free, three-day annual event, is an outgrowth of the 49th, 50th and 51st National Folk Festivals, which were presented in Lowell from 1987 - 1989. The NCTA continues to partner with the City of Lowell, the Lowell National Historical Park and the Lowell Festival Foundation in the planning and production of this multi-ethnic festival featuring six music and dance performance stages, crafts, parades, dance parties and wonderful ethnic foods. The festival has become one of the largest and most important traditional arts festivals in the nation, and in 2007 celebrated its 21st year. Its success helped to fuel a renewal and revitalization effort that has transformed this historic New England mill town.
