The Richmond Folk Festival
October 14-16, 2011
In 2005, 2006 and 2007, the historic riverfront along the beautiful James River in downtown Richmond, Virginia was the site of the 67th, 68th and 69th National Folk Festivals. Richmond continued the festival tradition with the launch of its own Richmond Folk Festival in 2008. A free, three-day outdoor celebration of traditional arts created on the National model, the inaugural Richmond Folk Festival was a stunning event with record attendance. Building upon this success, the 2010 festival reaffirmed the importance of the event in the Richmond region and beyond by welcoming a record crowd of nearly 190,000.
